Celebrate a Rare Vintage and a Luxury Wine Day at Dynamis Estate Wines

You may be wondering why I'd drive over to the Brushy Mountains for a day trip — and the answer is an extra special one.

Tucked into the rolling hills of the Brushy Mountains, Dynamis Estate Wines is redefining North Carolina's wine experience. This stunning estate combines luxury, craftsmanship, and heart in a way that feels both world-class and deeply local. (Paid Partnership)

Recently featured in Southern Living’s article on Top Places to Experience North Carolina's Wine Country This Fall, and nominated for American Winery of the Year in the 2025 Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards, Dynamis has quickly become one of the most celebrated wineries in the Southeast.

My visit was worth every mile of the two-hour drive from Asheville. The vineyards stretch across sunlit slopes, their rows alive with late-season Cabernet grapes that were still on the vine during my tour — a rare and beautiful sight in October. The Dynamis team shared that harvest was only days away, and witnessing it up close gave me a new appreciation for the art and patience of winemaking.

Inside the production area, I sampled a rosé straight from the tank before filtration — a vivid, aromatic preview of what's to come. That single sip captured everything I loved about Dynamis: precision, patience, and artistry deeply rooted in the land itself.

About the Estate

Spanning roughly 1,500 acres, Dynamis Estate Wines sits at about 1,640 feet above sea level, where the rocky soil of the Brushy Mountains gives each varietal its depth and distinctive character.

The winery specializes in small-lot, handcrafted Bordeaux-style wines — Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec — all grown, harvested, and bottled on-site. Every wine produced at Dynamis is made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate, ensuring complete control over quality from vineyard to bottle.

Greek Inspiration and Design

The name Dynamis comes from the Greek word for strength and potential, which perfectly captures both the philosophy and design of the estate. Every space — from the barrel room to the tasting lodge — was created with intention. Natural textures, thoughtful architecture, and sweeping vineyard views set the tone for an experience that feels elevated yet unpretentious.

The Tasting Lodge Experience

The Tasting Lodge feels like stepping into a private retreat tucked into the hills. It's sophisticated but never intimidating, with a warm, knowledgeable team who clearly loves what they do.

Tastings are offered by reservation and may include guided seated tastings, estate tours, or curated food pairings. Each experience is unhurried and personal, allowing guests to fully appreciate the wines and the story behind them.

Estate-Grown Flavor and Food Pairings

One of the things that sets Dynamis Estate Wines apart is how much they grow right there on the property. Many of the fruits and ingredients featured on their tasting boards — apricots, peaches, apples, and even oranges — come straight from the estate itself.

During my visit, I enjoyed two beautifully curated boards — one featuring a creamy vegan cashew-based cheese and another with classic hummus, both served with gluten-free options. Everything was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor, perfectly complementing the wines and reflecting the care that goes into every detail at Dynamis.

The estate also hosts Sunday Suppers, a monthly dining experience that pairs seasonal dishes with their estate wines, shared around a single communal table overlooking the vines.
