June Giving Campaign: Neighbors Helping Neighbors 💛
When Hurricane Helene hit, Discover Asheville didn’t just document the aftermath — we were in it.
Like so many of you, we jumped in headfirst: supply drives, donation drops, meal prep, resource lists, boots on the ground. From day one, we’ve seen the heart of this region show up in ways we’ll never forget.
But there are two organizations whose commitment hasn’t wavered — even as I’ve had to take a step back for my own health and family. While I pressed pause, they kept pressing forward.
For the entire month of June, we’re asking you to help us fundraise for two local organizations doing the quiet, relentless, soul-level work—especially:
💛 Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church — Asheville, NC
Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Marcia Mount Shoop, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (GCPC) has quietly provided over $5 million in rent and utility assistance to families in crisis—without judgment or restrictive red tape.
But due to a devastating drop in funding, they were forced to pause all services in May.
The impact? Deep.
The need? Urgent.
The time to act? Now.

“Because neighbors helping neighbors is how we truly rebuild—not just homes, but hope.”
Why These Two?
Because their missions are built on compassion, not conditions.
Because they lead with tenderness and consistency.
Because their work — truly — is tending to souls.
This isn’t just about food. Or rent.
It’s about dignity.
It’s about being seen.
It’s about showing up long after the headlines fade.
And now, it’s our turn to show up for them.
This June, let’s show up for them.
Grace Covenant needs immediate support.
The Blessing Project deserves to grow.
Both are holding this community together in quiet, powerful ways.
If you’ve ever wondered how to help—this is it. 💛
