A Spacious Mountain Getaway Just Minutes from Downtown Brevard

I’m especially excited to share this property with you because the family who owns it are people I’ve known for more than two decades. They are truly precious people who love their home and take such good care of it, and that makes getting to share it with you even more special.

Located on a private one-acre lot just one mile from downtown Brevard, this three-bedroom, three-bath home combines mountain home charm with something that can be surprisingly hard to find around here: a big, mostly flat yard where everyone can get outside and enjoy themselves.

I had the chance to visit this property last night, and while the house itself has plenty to offer, the outdoor space was one of my favorite parts. It’s also a great option for cyclists visiting Brevard, especially mountain bikers who need space to store their bikes and gear after a day on the trails.

A Great Home Base for Mountain Bikers

Brevard is a favorite destination for mountain biking, and this property has a couple of features cyclists will especially appreciate. There’s a garage where you can store your bikes and cycling gear, plus a hose available for washing off the mud after a day on the trails.

If you’re traveling with your bikes, having a place to keep your gear and an easy way to clean up before heading inside makes a big difference. With Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Recreational Forest nearby, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get out and ride, then return to a comfortable home with room to relax.

A Yard That Makes You Want to Stay Outside

One of the first things I noticed was just how much usable outdoor space this property has. If you’ve spent much time looking at mountain homes, you know that a big yard with plenty of level ground isn’t always easy to come by. Here, you have room for kids to play, adults to relax, and the whole group to gather without feeling crowded.

There’s a large fire pit area that feels made for evenings spent roasting marshmallows, swapping stories, and enjoying a cool mountain night. The backyard also has a swing set and play structure that give kids room to burn off energy, while adults have plenty of space to settle in and enjoy the surroundings.

The outdoor living areas are spread across two levels, giving you different places to gather throughout the day. The upper deck has a picnic table where you can enjoy a meal outdoors, while the lower patio offers another large picnic table and a gas grill for outdoor cooking. String lights add a little extra charm when the sun goes down.

There’s something about having all these different spaces that makes this property especially appealing for families and groups. You can fire up the grill, let the kids play, gather around the fire pit later, or simply find a quiet spot to enjoy your morning coffee.

The property is also bordered by a peaceful stream, adding to that mountain retreat feeling while keeping you close to everything in town.

Inside the Home: Mountain Charm and Room for Everyone

Inside, the home carries that cozy mountain-home character, with warm wood details, comfortable gathering spaces, and decor that makes it feel welcoming rather than overly formal.

The main living area features a reclaimed wood accent wall, a large television, a comfortable sofa, and swivel rocker chairs. It’s an inviting place to settle in after a day of hiking, biking, or exploring downtown Brevard.

The kitchen and dining area are equipped for preparing meals at home, with plenty of cookware, utensils, spices, and everyday essentials. Coffee lovers will appreciate the stocked coffee station, too.

One of the things I like about this layout is that the home offers two separate living areas. The downstairs family room gives guests another place to spread out, watch television, or relax while others enjoy the main floor. That extra living space can make a real difference when you’re traveling with a larger family or a group of friends.

There’s also a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair, which is helpful if you need to check in with work while you’re away.

Three Bedrooms, Three Bathrooms, and Space to Spread Out

The home has three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, with sleeping arrangements that work well for families and groups.

The primary suite features a king-size bed, an extra-large closet, and a private bathroom with two sinks. A second bedroom on the main level has a queen-size bed, with a full bathroom nearby.

Downstairs, the third bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed. The lower level also includes its own full bathroom, laundry room, and spacious family room.

Having bedrooms and bathrooms across the two levels gives guests a little more breathing room, especially when everyone wants to get ready at the same time or the kids want their own space.

An Easy Drive to Downtown Brevard and Outdoor Adventures

Here’s another reason this property stands out: the location.

You’re just one mile from downtown Brevard, making it an easy drive to shops, restaurants, breweries, and everything that makes this little mountain town such a fun place to visit. You’re also close to three grocery stores, so picking up supplies for a cookout or stocking the kitchen for a longer stay is simple.

You can spend the morning exploring downtown, head out for an afternoon on the trails, grab dinner at one of Brevard’s local restaurants, and be back at the house in just a few minutes.

Outdoor lovers will appreciate how close you are to some of the area’s best-known natural attractions. The Davidson River is just a short drive away, offering beautiful scenery and opportunities to enjoy the water. Pisgah National Forest is also nearby, with hiking trails, waterfalls, scenic drives, and plenty of opportunities to get out and explore the mountains.

DuPont State Recreational Forest is within driving distance as well, making this a convenient home base for discovering some of Western North Carolina’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.

The property has also welcomed families visiting for events at Pretty Place and Seven Maples, making it worth considering if you’re traveling to the area for a special occasion.

And if you’re hoping to spend more than a weekend in the mountains, the owners invite inquiries about longer winter rentals.
